Robin was a Senior Information Governance Consultant and a seasoned data protection expert before transitioning to a business operations role at IGS. Robin obtained an undergraduate degree in Law from the University of Kent and went onto become a trained lawyer, specialising in employment law and litigation. Robin then specialised in data protection and data privacy and is now a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and an experienced Data Protection Officer.
Robin is a subject matter expert in UK and European data protection legislation, including the GDPR, UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and PECR. As a Senior Consultant, Robin had a number of specialisms, but is experienced in all aspects of data protection compliance and support. Robin specialised in undertaking Data Protection Impact Assessments on complex projects, working closely with organisations to fully understand all the logistical and technical aspects of the data processing to provide a comprehensive risk assessment with a series of constructive mitigations. Robin provided bespoke information governance training to organisations and enjoyed working with organisations to find out their required needs and deliver training to suit those needs. Robin worked on large projects with multiple organisations sharing a high volume of data, requiring Robin to be experienced at drafting and reviewing data processing and data sharing agreements. Robin has been a Data Protection Officer and works closely with various NHS organisations as a subject matter expert, including submitting and project managing Data Security and Protection Toolkits. Robin is experienced in handling personal data breaches and liaising with the ICO and senior stakeholders on risk mitigation. Robin has vast experience in drafting and reviewing data protection policies and transparency materials.
Having been with IGS almost since the start, Robin has been heavily involved in the development of the company and shaping it into the company it is today. Now, Robin’s focus is on developing IGS’ products and digital web presence, building and maintaining client relationships, and generally looking after the business internally.
Outside of work, Robin can be found watching Tottenham Hotspur lose football games and slowly hacking his way around a golf course.
