Vitoria Hiromi Saito

Vitoria is a Data Protection Advisor at IGS. Born and raised in Brazil, Vitoria has an undergraduate degree in Law from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) and an LLM in IT and Data Law from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Vitoria’s passion for data protection comes from her experience as an academic researcher, having published several articles and papers about the development of Brazilian data protection law in varied law journals and for different organisations, including Brazil’s National Institute of Data Protection. Outside of academia, Vitoria previously acted as a business and corporate tax consultant/auditor at a Big Four firm, in addition to having work experience in the public legal sector in Brazil.  

Besides privacy and data protection, Vitoria is interested in most aspects of tech regulation, including AI governance, cyber law, e-commerce law, platform regulation and antitrust law in digital markets. As a Data Protection Advisor, Vitoria provides support to clients in complying with a variety of regulations, including the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), in addition to specific instruments applicable to the healthcare sector.  

Outside of work, Vitoria can often be found looking for bookshops, museums and record stores across London, or periodically watching The Royal Ballet in Covent Garden.
